The folks at the Sunrise Assisted Living of Augusta on Boy Scout Road were happy to welcome two members of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club members on Monday, June 8th. Lois Kendall and Sandra Durand brought four large vases of their garden flowers for the residents to commemorate National Garden Week. Lois and Sandra’s visit also included taking pictures of themselves with the residents and the flowers arrangements. Their conversations centered on flower gardens. Many of the residents recalled times when they also grew flowers. The residents who participated in this event thanked them for their gifts of flowers and time and invited them to return next month
Later in the week, Lois brought the photographs to the staff to be added to their community bulletin board. The residents, upon seeing the pictures, enjoyed recalling their visit. The beauty of flowers provides a wonderful setting for friendships to develop and grow.
