The Augusta Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. is offering seven Basic Horticulture Workshops led by Master Gardeners and local garden experts. Monthly workshops will be held on Saturdays and start September 10. Morning classroom sessions will be at Aldersgate Methodist Church, 3185 Wheeler Road, and afternoon sessions will include a tour of a private garden or greenhouse. Workshops are open to any interested person, and preregistration deadlines are 10 days prior to each workshop. Maximum registration for each workshop is 35.

October 8 – Bulbs, Annuals, Perennials; Perennials for Dry Shade
January 14 – Trees and Shrubs
February 11 – Seasonal Gardening Interest; Vegetables & Companion Planting
March 10 – Indoor Gardening; Container Gardening; Bromeliads and Begonias
May 12 – Herbs
June 9 – New Cultivars
A check for the registration fee of $25/workshop should be made out to Augusta Council of Garden Clubs and mailed with the registration form to Virginia Allen, 2916 Westchester Drive, Augusta, GA 30909.
